Back to woodwork and I wondered how come the people who'd built the house had managed to get the small beams fitting so tightly into the large beams.
I thought maybe they'd ingeniously built it all as one adn put it into place, some feat!!!

But no, all has been revealed now that I am cleaning the beams.

They cut some nice wedges and put them in place where they'd had to cut an angle on the beam to get it to slot into place.

No doubt dirt had got trapped into the very small gap and covered it over so it looked like one whole piece of wood.

Now to cut some wedges adn fit them where the new beams have been put.

I'll post some pictures in a minute
