Hope someone can help me as I'm new to this period property game, although I have renovated houses in the past.
With a non-period property, most of the dampness in the house can be simply eradicated by treating the floors, either with a damp-proof membrane and concrete, or a bitumen coating.
I have recently bought a Vivtorian (or Edwardian, built 1904) semi, which has a mosaic hallway, and quarry tiled floors in two of the downstairs rooms.
I want to keep the tiles in place, so how do I damp-proof the floors ?
