Personally I would put dinner parties among things that are now becoming Period. So much more contemporary to gather round the gas-fired pizza oven (would be wood-fired, but it's difficult to get a flue in a Hoxton apartment in a smokeless zone) for a hand-stretched pizza topped with fresh basil from the roof garden and a jam-jar of something from the microbrewery downstairs.

We were talking about this to the inlaws recently, as they were bemoaning been subjected to someone's holiday snaps.
I commented how we used to do this as well, but recent years, we have noticed how some people have a picture frame with digital images, changing every few seconds. This was far more interesting, as it was less forced upon you, and you felt the urge to actually ask about them.

The very last thing you want is a fuse to go in a plug which is XX ft up in some inaccessible place (without scaffolding/access equipment... whatever)
Its all correctly fused back at the patch panel where the incoming leads from the round pin sockets (with their unfused plugs) terminate.

Schools used to use 5 amp (smaller lights and dimmers). Double adapters are known in theatreland as Grelcos -and an Encore Squelly is one of the first Google results for Grelco!
