There's not much in it actually - Screwfix if you order over £45 there's no P&P, with Toolstation it's orders over £40. Toolstation charge less for the small orders though, £5 as opposed to £5.95. I agree about Screwfix - they should just call it P&P rather than a packing fee, I'm sure they always used to.

I'm fortunate to have a Screwfix trade counter nearby, which is useful, although stock availability isn't always great. It looks like Toolstation are going down the same route, although they haven't got many trade counters yet.

I use toolstation a lot. I find thema litle cheaper than screwfix, delivery is good adn free for not too big an order. I used Screwfix once and didn't like the free postage, but the fact they then charged a packing fee!!!!!

Good to know, crazy isn't it. why don't screwfix just be honest and say it's a P&P fee.

I did log on to the toolstation website, but the items Geoff had suggested earlier didn't appear to be available, so had to pay the packing fee when I ordered the alarms from Screwfix!!!
