But a) the parking provided so often isn't convenient.
and b) you pay high council tax - you probably live out of town and have none of the benefits that those living in town do eg streetlights, post that arrives before 10am and fast emergency services but you pay more - so shouldn't you be able to park for free so that you can use your local town and support your local economy ? - they are happy to take from us but give nothing back !! But - this land is your land, this land is my land...
I agree. Since public transport is practically useless for rural areas, car parking should be regarded as a service, not a revenue opportunity.shelli said:So, that you can't park free in town on the occasions when you need to visit is deplorable IMO.
Whoah!! Think I struck a nerve there! Are we a bit hacked off with our venerable local councillors, Shelli?shelli said:shouldn't you be able to park for free so that you can use your local town and support your local economy ? - they are happy to take from us but give nothing back !! (B***ards)

Have you ever considered a career in the Diplomatic Service?shelli said:they swan around as if they own the place - the public put them in a job and then they conveniently forget that they are public servants - the whole ethos is wrong - I've never met such a pompous lot of brown nosed, back stabbers - worst of all it's the job that does it to them - those I know personally used to be members of the human race - power corrupts and all that.
If you complain nothing happens, you might as well not bother.
