Reading this having spent the day on my hands and knees 'grouting' our brick floor. These are hand made clay bricks and are laid on a soil, gravel, roadbase and sand base.
I had a recipie for mixing linseed oil and white spirits and then brushing onto the bricks. We did this only to find that after a few months a lovely funghi had grown all over them! Its taken days of cleaning to remove the mould and smell!
I don't know if it was the high humidity that caused the problems ( the house is closed up in the winter) so if so it will not be sensible to use oil again.
We want to seal them in a breathable way if possible. Any ideas?
