But those home shows are house porn! Surely a lot of us like that?? I do anyway, although seem to spend more time shouting at the TV for doing the wrong thing (like UPVC/DPC etc).

First up though, for the PPUK Firing Squad for general house show presenter annoyance value

I have mixed feelings about him: his show did kindly demonstrate that one of my punters had done some unauthorised (and damaging) work to his listed conversion, but the follow up took the side of said punter, who was "saving the planet". Never mind, the Government Inspector came down on our side...

I used to make an effort to watch Question Time, but even that has a hard time maintaining my interest these days.

FF, tonight's QT with a schools audience was far better argued, more incisive and much more cogent than the "grown-up" version. Far less unnecessarily partisan too. The is hope for the future (provided it isn't overcome by the rising seas!)

As for telly- I've never had it, which has made me the most ill-informed person I know when it comes to the popular culture around me ( I hadn't seen or really heard any Michael Jackson until the other day when I really couldn't escape it any longer). People constantly say things which mean absolutely nothing to me.

In recent years I've thought about it, but the noise hurts my ears and the images change about too quickly.

Seriously? IMHO the best laid plans still encounter some hiccups.

I'm sure cracking the final double glazed roof pane would have made fabulous TV, but then I'd have had to pay for the camera lens as well as a new unit. Anyone building without stress will be moving too slowly for a TV schedule. Anyone moving fast enough to meet series deadlines would be crazy to put a camera crew in there adding more stress too.

I'm quite glad I'm too far down the line to be interesting.

BTW "They're planning to be in by Christmas, but I can't see it myself" is my favourite Kevin McCloudism...
