This not, of course, advisable if your chimney is filled with vermiculite!andrew gayton said:do you mean the soot door to a chimney to enable sweeping above a register plate?

Is corrugated the same as flexible? If it is, and therefore shouldn't be used, how can you get a straight flu liner fitted into a chimney that isn't straight?oldfella said:Never ever use corregated flu liner for use with a solid fuel stove. They are not designed for such use and will quickly deteriate. Stove might perform well for a short period of time but don't let this fool you into a false sense of security.

Just imagine how tool-pushers on a drilling rig feel! A string miles long, made up of screwed-together sections.Flyfisher said:assembling it bit-by-bit - mind you, chimney sweeps manage to assemble their brush poles this way so perhaps it's not such a big deal.
Many years ago I did some consultancy work for BP regarding computerised archiving of their extensive photographic library (this was early 80's, so well before digital cameras and jpeg algorithms). One of their people showed me a photo of a well blowout in which you could see the miles of pipe that had been blown out of the well and into the sky. After rising a few hundred feet into the air, the drilling pipe started to coil up on itself and it looked a bit like a loose ball of string floating in the air.Penners said:Just imagine how tool-pushers on a drilling rig feel! NONSENSE. there are just differing grades thats all; lightweight for gas and heavier for solid fuel.............
