Yes, I was intrigued by it, unusual approach in places I thought, but the part-time job looks interesting!

I point out I am about to join as an individual, tenner I think. But useful for parish and town councils, civic socs and the like to join I think.

Yeah - but you have to listen to it while searching...

I gather on some laptops it can't be heard.

if you are offering... small organsiations can't afford fancy sites you know.

The organisation will grow I am sure, and the site develop along with it.

The main problem is that the site has been put together using flash. Flash has it uses (some would argue with this) but it should never be used for the whole site as it breaks so many things. A web content management system such a joomla would do a far better job as it meets web standards if you are careful. A joomla hosted site would be no more than £30 per year plus development costs which are free if you do it yourself.

No, I think less is more I have to say, where websites are concerned. But a worthy organisation, as far as I can tell.

I will report more when I know more.

I'm sure the organisation has very laudable aims, but do we really need another one dedicated to the preservation of our built and/or social heritage?

There are several much more high profile ones already, and each new one that arrives threatens to dilute the pool of available funds still further.

I think this is actually set up to be different, to address the planning and other issues which some places have not got the expertise to consider really.
