Servant's Bell

It's a game where you fire different sorts of "birds" at green piggies or marmosets or other things in various configurations. Some birds drop bombs, some split into more birds when you touch them. I tried the free version and decided the paid for one ( about a dollar ) was not worth the price of admission. Unlikely as it may seem my husband thinks it's huge fun and would have paid 5 dollars to upgrade.

I said I had no idea what 'Angry Birds' was all about. You seem to have misconstrued this to mean that I wanted to know.

It's taken me over a year to get round to getting the right brocade dangly thing and a couple of mistakes but today this is sorted to a point where I'm happy with it! Thanks Mr P for your excellent haberdashery advice. The tapestry bell pull idea didn't work out at all, and nobody makes tasselled bell ropes, so I had to get two matching curtain tie backs, undo the knot and make a cut. I then made a loop at the top and using jewellery wire bound the loose end to the rope. A tiny S hook again made of jewellery wire attaches it to the mechanism. It isn't terribly neat at the top, and the cut of the rope above the tassel can be seen, but I'm hoping to distract the eye from that with the decorative looking-glass and chimney-piece. Chris has still to loop the bell-wire through to the bell, but as his jobs list is very long I suppose I ought to have a go myself.

Perhaps not bell ropes, but an undertaker's suppliers could have supplied tasselled coffin cords...

Thanks LadyA, seem to remember we had a fun afternoon in Peter Jones looking at tassels and things too.

Just need a rug and a Sheraton Rev dining table and the room is nearing completion.

Sorry I missed your original post, I guess (in my defence) I would have been away on holiday in July '11 and interior decoration is not my forte! Actually, you can also get pretty close to what you need if you google "bugle cord". Less than £15 on Amazon!

Oh, heavens. In a billion years I'd never have thought to google bugle cord or coffin cord. Thanks worms - I'm satisfied with the dining room make-do but I'll know for the next lot of bell pulleys.

I think this just proves there's no question too trivial for PPUKe - I wish I'd posted again about this!
