First up... at 11.26?? I'll have you know I was walking the dog at 7.30am this morning.

It's a bit tough, having to fix a church window on a bank holiday. No rest for the virtuous, eh?

And a Happy New Year to all. Happily, our front door directly faces the church across the road, so no worries about having a quick tipple before midnight mass. Even happier, the bells at All Hallows no longer work

Decided to brave the New Year's Eve storms and made it to Allendale after all.

The wind made the walk around by the Guizers interesting, with flames and sparks blowing around us, but the insurance problems mean the fire itself is now barriered off and half the size it was.

Seems mad as the parade is still as 'dangerous' to onlookers and participants as ever, but at least the windows of nearby buildings are now in less danger of cracking with the heat!
