After 8 weeks, the controversial scaffolding of our neighbouring property which rested on our outbuildings roof has been successfully removed.
The section of our roof which supported the boards and some of the scaffold suffered no more than half a dozen damaged tiles . These tiles were removed, the joists underneath checked and then fresh tiles replaced. The roof was swept clean and the gutters cleared of debris.
I think that we were extremely lucky to get away with it and that my Neighbour's site manager/ builder is a decent sort of guy... he did say that he was not particularly pleased with the mess the roofers left all around the property and by way of a thank you he fixed the loose tiles on our main catslide roof and the owner gave me a fab hanging basket.
However, I shall not take such a risk again, so I hope that this side of their property will not need a re-fix too soon!
The question of the windows is also satisfactorily resolved with opaque glass throughout, excepting one which has a panel of opaque in the middle so protecting our privacy in our garden below the window, and allows the Owner to see across to the views and sky through the top section. However, all this will be useless if the residents want to open the windows! daft isn't it!
