Sagging floor/?lintel issue

I can't see anything wrong in the photo. No cracks to indicate movement. Maybe some bending above the bay window. Why is this a concern?

It only works that way if you're a complete slacker. The equation works the other way and ultimately you end up moving into a smaller box - but not on a voluntary basis.

Hey Cubist I’m no slacker it won’t end. It’ll need a new roof next once I sort this silly beam/joist situation etc!

The problem Ive had is good tradesmen are really difficult to come by and I haven’t time yet to learn enough skills to master it myself. If I didn’t have so many responsibilities I’d have the ceiling down already and be learning how to fix the floor myself. Maybe not the beam tho

Friend of mine bought a bit of a doer upper last year, moved into their parents after their house sold. A year later they are still stuck living at parents due to tradesmen taking forever. They wanted an extension adding etc. so who knows.
I’m gunna tell my children to join trades. There’s clearly a shortage of them in the first place and even more so decent ones. It’s ridiculous.

Only because when we had the hallway replastered by a builder who was a friend of a friend - after the old plaster came off, the end of the beam was showing through the wall and they said they’d never seen anything like it and that it was the wrong way around. They never did get back to me for a quote to replace it I stupidly forgot to take a photo.

Now of course it hasn’t been properly visualised from the inside of the room. It was literally just its end. And neither of my structural engineers reports mention it being a concern. Just said there are two steels in.

So it’s just one guys say so.

But the bedroom floors sag along this beam also into the middle. The floor sagging is barely mentioned in my survey. it says it’s down to deflection in the timber beam over the bay window. I’ve just had the bay and external wall all crack stitched with helifix/helibeam and tied in as they bay had moved a bit and there was some cracking.
Convinced the bay windows are so old they may not have those poles in so that’s also high priority on my list.

There’s cracking to the very old plaster in our bedroom above on that wall that it’s holding up but it feels like it’s come off the wall. It’s really old and I’ve been pushing at it so it’s probably cracked more due to that. So could be nothing. My sons room on the other side was replastered 3 years ago and no cracking there.

Basically I just want to check this beam now properly and see what they’ve done. I had another builder say they could not see how it could be in wrong.
Another builder said they could come out with their SE for a proper inspection so I’m trying to organise that at present.
I just can’t see how, if it was the wrong way around, that the joists would be going into it??? Where would they go if it was. That’s what I can’t work out. I’m gunna have a look myself once I get a day off, if the builder takes ages to get back to me.
