Renovator Plaster

Just had a chat with yet another plasterer. This time he has suggested renovator plaster. I was making my case for lime plastering but this was his alternative. M What are your thoughts on this? C1700 rubble walls and single skin red brick.

Terrible. Find a genuine lime plasterer.

Thank you! That was my feeling. Why is it so hard?! No one wants to do it. Been quoted £7.5k to lime plaster 2 rooms, 5x5m and 8x5m, does that sound reasonable?

Ceilings or just walls? Traditional 3 coat lime?

If it’s 3 coat lime then £60-80 per m2 isn’t unreasonable, assuming normal ceiling heights you are looking at 90ish square metres there so the quote potentially isn’t that wild.

There’s a reason why a lot of people on here learn how to DIY lime plaster - the materials are cheap but it’s all about the labour
