I have a pair of reclaimed Regency pelmets to sell if anybody is interested please pm me for further information, lovely mouldings and in good conditon.

You should have posted an innocent question, asking for advice as to how to find a 'good home' for the items (e-bay etc) and how much to ask for them.

You mean like: I've got eight pulleys from a Victorian sash window - does anyone think that these would be useful for someone if advertised?

I've also got four 8 lb sash weights (in rusty steel) - would they be useful/worth anything to anyone?

Who not try entering "hardcore" into google to look for some? :lol:

Have you tried a wanted ad on Freegle or similar? I've seen a few where people are trying to get rid of brick rubble.

Would MOT* be suitable? It's about £22 a ton delivered I think. Damn sight easier than lugging 2 tons of brick rubble back to your house then having to break it up. It compacts well too.

* MOT - no, not the test every year on your car. It's limestone used for making the sub-base (they very bottom layer) of roads, sometimes gets called "type 1", "inch to dust" or "scalpings". It's a combination of chunks of limestone about an inch big down to dust, it compacts very easily to form a nice solid base.


EDIT - Doh! I need glasses. How to get RID of 2 tons of hardcore, not how to get 2 tons of hardcore. Erm, Freegle again? Back of the sofa? (everything disappears down ours, never to be seen again)?

I know, put it "somewhere safe." That will guarantee that you will never see it again. Works every time for me.

Ha , I could do a 'great escape' and bring a pocket full into work with me every day.
Penners its big chunks of everything, lots of old cement plaster, broken bricks and concrete. Not sure if it would be much good though except for filling big holes in.
I dont have to google hardcore, I have a pretty good imagination.
