Hi everyone,
This is my first post on this forum so I hope it's O.K. to make it a question. My house is approx. 120 years old and is having a makeover inside and out. I have only average DIY skills so just doing the bits I can realistically do myself and calling in the experts for the rest
I have had a fair bit of re-plastering done (no surprise there!) and have generally left skirting boards, picture rails, architraves etc. in situ. But I had to remove 4 pieces of skirting board. All pieces are 9 inches deep, one nearly 12 feet long, and the other three about 4 feet long.
To refix them I can't really see beyond rawplugs and screws. Countersink the screws, apply filler and paint over.
But it is nagging at me whether I should be doing anything more sympathetic to the age of the property and the techniques originally used?
Any comments/opinions/advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Mark
