Interesting idea. However, I suspect his retort would be that, unless I can conclusively prove that the entire house is indeed encased in rockwool insulation, he has no alternative but to trust only what he can see with his own eyes.

And I have a certain sympathy. I certainly wouldn't trust a shifty character like me.

Have you considered the impact of embedded co2 emmissions? There are so many television programmes with people building "green" homes and they fill them full of polystyrene, damp proof membranes and worst of all concrete and then call them environmentally friendly buildings! There is not enough emphasis on the co2 emissions caused by the manufacturer (more often than not Chinese) of these so-called environmentally green products. Maybe you could look further into the original manufacturing, whether the country uses coal fired or neuclear power stations, the shipping etc. The co2 emissions start from the beginning, not just to stop a few drafts.
