In the Housing Association magazine, page 42, http://www.wavcoms.co.uk/view/ha/issue/1060/ there is an advert from The British Plastics Federation that says "It's a fact that when it comes to window frames there is no more environmentally friendly material available than PVC-U. The BRE Green Guide rated PVC-U windows as A+ for comercial projects -that's as good as it gets!"?
I have submitted a complaint to the Advertising Standards Authority claiming that the claim is misleading.
The BRE Green Guide is online at http://www.thegreenguide.org.uk/ and has already come in for serious criticsm by the Good Homes Alliance at http://www.goodhomes.org.uk/news/111
The Complaints Executive, Laura Edwards, has replied saying
"You mention in your complaint that you find the ad misleading, but have not stated your reasons. We need a stronger basis of complaint from you in order to decide if it needs investigating further or not. Please let me now specifically why you think it is misleading."
If anyone deels they would like to chip I'll be happy to include your thoughts or you could make your own complaint online at http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/
