Do you look good in purple robes? I believe we have a very solid foundation for a new religion. There's good money to be made from blessing things and absolving people of sins and passing along secret knowledge. Doug already has a wealth of artifacts we could re-purpose for a ceremony or two.

Sorry, but I think a considerable number of religious establishments have already got there - several thousand years ago. Sales of blessings, indulgences and tatty artefacts have been going on since before even I was born.

Yes, but Scientology only started in the early 1950's, Mormons somewhat earlier, and both of those seem to be doing OK.

My power tool recommendations would probably be kitchen-based, but dear husband is obsessed with gathering tools and since moving here has bought ride on lawn mower and petrol strimmer, petrol hedge trimmer, petrol leaf blower ( which is rubbish!) chainsaw and tile cutter and glass cutter and circular saws and mitre saws and chipper shredders and bowser and drills and 100 screwdrivers and 1,000,000 screws, not to mention more ladders than seems reasonable or right-minded. And our big workshop is full :roll:

Sounds like a sensible man to me Joce - no man can ever have enough tools, and no matter how many screws you have, you never have enough of the ones that are the right size for the job in hand. And, excuse me, you're blaming Chris for the bowser? I seem to remember from the debate on here that that was more a wifely initiative to purchase? :wink:

This thread is like a scab that needs picking at for me. Even though it drifted off topic, all I've been able to think about for the last few days is a Fein Multimaster. I have no idea what I need it for or even really what it does but I know I have to have one.

Owning a PP makes Christmas like it used to be when I was a child, when my thoughts were consumed by Lego and train sets for the whole of December, but now it's power tools!

Studying archeology at the moment,do not understand this "ritual" thing where our ancestors broke their tools on purpose and then threw them into water! ( maybe I will throw that soft bolster chisel I bought from the pound shop in the river!)

It comes in a lovely case and it has the longest lead of any power tool I've ever known so you can work anywhere and not need an extension lead.

Doug, if you're implying that your workshop is untidy, then frankly you're a rank amateur in the untidiness stakes. To me, your looks neat, tidy and workmanlike.

I would show you a photo of mine, but I'd be just too embarrassed.
