@LadyArowana if you're settled on where the TV is going to be long-term, personally I'd run a wired connection from the router to the wall next to the TV and put an Ethernet socket in the wall next to the electrical socket. Probably seems like a pain especially if you've already decorated but you'll definitely thank yourself in the long run
You can buy these things so you don't need any knowledge of how to wire an Ethernet socket yourself: https://www.kenable.co.uk/en/networ...et-network-uk-plate-010844-5054338108445.html - they do also have single ones but seem to be out of stock at the moment. Alternatively you can probably just feed the cable through a small hole in the floor 
You can then just buy a standard Ethernet patch cable that is long enough run under the floor from your router to the back of the faceplate and plug it in - then another small cable to run from the new socket to the TV. I imagine you might need to enlist the help of an electrician but should be an easy job for them.
Issue here is that your router positioning then needs to be fairly static as well unless you want things to start getting a bit more complicated.
