Yes, exactly this. But i have no idea what it is. I’ll speak to the plasterer on Monday about it. It believe it will leave a thin air gap though, about 5mm between the plasterboards and the laths.Ah, so that explains why he's not so worried about the laths then, he's going to drop the ceiling.
The plasterer wrote this to me before the weekend: “if gap is too wide may need to put a strip over the joists first. But will see when I'm over and discuss it with you”.
I’m going to see it paulc’s solutions will help tomorrow too.
Either way, I think these “strips” or paulc’s solutions will help level it out I’ll report back here!
