Pigeons are eating our house away!

we have house rabbits and to stop them chewing things we use anything smelly. Pine detergent, cheap aftershave (a good use for that unwanted xmas gift). chillies work well also, but i have no idea if pigeons palates are more robust!

I still maintain that if Biff's herons or eagles haven't got to the b*****s before, just use Penners 16 bore . Well stewed with a springle of chillies should be more tasteful to the human palate.

I'm not sure about the 4lb line.
The pigeons that inhabit the building opposite us find the netting there a very convenient perch. (And the spikes on the windowsills are really useful when it comes to nesting - keeps the eggs from rolling off).

the theory is that pigeons are unable to perch on the fishing line due to it's very thin diameter and flexibility. They would also hate the thin strand of line if it interferes with their wings, hence the correct distance between wall to line and line to line is quite important for the deterrant to work.

Chillies may work with mammals but not with birds as they are largely immune to capsaicin, the 'hot' component of chillies.
