When we fitted the new boiler we ended up with radiators (old style) in the main house and underfloor heating in the extension. So we've had one of the coldest winters on record using E7 and the last one using the new system. I have to be honest and say that E7 does have it's merits. Baking in the morning and, even with temperatures outside well below zero during the day, the heaters still had just enough oomph to get us through to about 6pm. After that it was the log burner and thermals. Just no way of controlling it.
We found out that a previous owner had oil fired heating but took it out and put in the E7 because they didn't like the pipes everywhere. Our plumber did a good job of hiding most of them in the main living area of the house except for the old kitchen which looks a bit like an oil refinery. I'll box those in.
