I am old enough (just) *straight toothed smile emoticon not available on the right* to remember powercuts from the 1970's fondly. As I recall they even arranged one specifically on halloween, which was nice. I am sure they wouldn't be so much fun now, even for children. Sign of the times...

I also remember the power cuts from the 70's and remember they were quite exciting (as a kid). It was always a bit of a disappointment when the power came on again. I'm not sure I would feel the same now though. Of course there are already certain measures in place to save energy such as turning off street lights at midnight. I just hope the power saving extends to the lights outside Downing Street or Buckingham Palace. :wink:
