I expect Penners will be along in a bit to point out that bratwurst doesn't have an umlaut.

Well, that's a moot point, actually. Today's word, Bratwurst is indeed umlautfrei. But it's derived from the old Hochdeutsch word, Brät (meaning chopped-up meat), which did have one.

I do so love our learned discussions.

Apparently the Bride is a descendant of an Airline Pilot - according to the commentator's tone that was pretty much "down pit"
I also enjoyed the happy couple "driving themselves" away after the part "like a normal couple" - a normal couple who have a closed road in central London and get to use Daddy's vintage Aston Martin for the 1/4 mile trip from Mum's house to theirs

I liked using minibuses for all those not quite VIP enough to have a Jaguar, Daimler or a Rolls to themselves.

And why did Phil have the window open when Lizzie needed her blanket?

The BBC had some dippy woman who was sat with Huw Edwards making some priceless, inane comments at this point.

"He's clearly a good driver" she said, as he drove the Aston at 10mph on a closed road, hardly the most taxing driving test ever.
"Surprising there are no security men, they're just like any young couple driving themselves away" - totally missing the fact that about 5 feet behind the Aston was a very large and very obvious Range Rover with blacked out windows.
"I know it's a fantastic Aston Martin, but it does look like any normal little dodgem car really". Enough said. :roll:

I wonder how much the BBC paid her for this kind of insight?
