I used to. First I had a bike which is so uncool I won't confess to it (a 750 Yamaha Virago) then I had an XT600 which I rode back from Australia, then I had this

a GPZ500, then I had a CBR600. Stopped riding about 6 years ago, think sometimes about getting another one..... What do you have Andrew?

in no particular order, I currently own:

a ktm 950 supermoto
a ktm 530 exc (converted for sm)
a ktm 400 exc for trail and enduro
a ktm 300 exc (a 2 stroke) also for trail and enduro
a gas gas txt pro 250 for trials
a yamaha ty 175 for twinshock trials.

the 950 is the 'road bike' although all bar the trials bikes (gas gas and the yam) are road registered.

the orange bikes are very very good - very well designed.

I have a full motorcycle licence but haven't had a bike for about 30 years so I can't really lay much claim to be a motorcyclist anymore. My last bikes were a Honda XT185 and a Yamaha DT400.

I've seen a couple of Andrew's bikes . . . they are serious machines!

VFR750FJ - owned for nearly 20 years, can't bear to part with it. Our relationship is longer than the one I have with my wife, by a whole month!

Erm, another VFR750FJ - to provide bits for the one above, it's a long term relationship and parts are getting harder and harder to come by. The same doesn't apply to Mrs F by the way, I don't have her twin held captive in the cellar just in case

CRM250AR, which sadly will probably go soon as I never get a chance to ride it Lovely mental grey import 2 stroke, not as mental as Andrew's orange beasties though.

Past bikes - far too many to mention, both old and new-ish. Height of embarrassment has to be a Honda Express Deluxe, which under the trades description act should have been banned, being neither Express nor Deluxe. I was 16 and skint!

Quite fancy a BMW GS1200. And a Yamaha XJR1300. And an Ariel Square Four. And a Triumph T120, or perhaps a BSA Rocket Three / Triumph Trident. Brough Superior would be nice, as would a BSA Gold Star. To be perfectly honest pretty much anything with 2 wheels and an engine, although I'm not keen on Harleys or Harley clones.

As you get older Harleys dont seem so bad,had an iron head sportster for about ten years,but lack of space meant it had to go last year.Had a goldie DBD34 in the 70s,great fun as long as you stay out of town.I cannot understand Broughs! they are just "bitsas".As I grow older and there are so many speed cameras about fast bikes seem less attractive.So if I want to go somewhere it`s the Nimbus,If I want to get rid of moles it`s` the Douglas!

How effective is that method? I'm getting fed up with continually trapping (and missing!) moles.
Would a diesel tractor do the job do you think?

Started the bike,smoke and moles came out of several holes in the garden,turned up the oil and even more smoke came out,put the bike away,the smoke cleared and the moles returned!.In some areas of the garden I have put plastic mesh down to prevent cars churning it up when wet this seems to stop the moles but elsewhere they make a great mess but as it`s just grass and not a "lawn" I put up with it!.

I did that when my GPZ sprouted a con-rod through the crank-case on the M1 - bought another one and made two into one..... but it was never the same.... Rather a fan of VFRs too though, particularly the 400 as they're light with plenty of poke (in my limited experience...) The Honda Express Deluxe, Feltwell, I don't think that counts.... :wink:

I also tolerate them in most areas of our grass (we don't have "lawn" either) but there are areas I'd prefer them to avoid. We'll never completely eradicate them though because they simply move in from the surrounding fields.

I'll have you know my Honda Express Deluxe could get up to a mighty 25mph, and it could wheeze asthmatically up to that mighty speed in only several minutes. What a beast! In fact in a drag race with Flyfisher's ancient tractor, I'd be hard pressed to say which would win. The CB125 SuperDream I had afterwards was like a rocket ship in comparison, until I passed my test and got something considerably quicker!

I like VFR's, but to tell you the truth even the 750 is a bit cramped for me, always has been, even though mine is an early model and is physically larger than some of the later ones. The 400 is tiny, beautifully built though, and good fun to ride - I've had a go on a friend's 400 once, very easy bike to chuck about but cripplingly uncomfortable for me after about 10 minutes!

Mrs F had an ER5 Kawasaki which she really liked - very similar to the GPZ500 really, in fact I seem to remember they shared the same engine.

Those grey impoirts were ace. This is my old bike. I think I've posted a pic before but it is nice so I'll post it again. I had an RGV too but it wasn't as good as that TZR reverse cylinder.

A friend`s THIRD wife was going through a tin of his old photos and came across a pic of him on his FIRST honeymoon wearing a red tee shirt he still owns! she has skillfully converted the shirt into a set of matching dusters! (back to bikes!)

I had a ZX7R once. Now I have a family.

Journalists never listen. I did 30,000miles on that bike, not 3,000. It cost me 10p/mile in tyres.
