Unfortunately it's starting to stain through again. Must just be soot staining from the bricks. Oh well. It was worth doing to fix the cracks, although those may appear again of course, when I use the fire. I shall just think of it as character.

Shame about the stains but still a lovely, lovely job!

Still in the midst of repointing and brickwork repairs here. It's only been a year now, off and on, pretty much every weekend "on" when it's warm enough. About two-thirds done now.

I reckon your "no-paint" render would look great with that limewash on it.
