"Bonefire night ram - April Fool lamb" as they say.

I tend to run the ram with the ewes all year (I know!). Last year I moved him at the beginning of September, as he'd never caught any of the ewes that early in previous years and we didn't want any lambs this year due to work on house. This year he's coming out at the beginning of August.

Have a British Shorthorn cow and calf arriving in the next week or two.

Anyone keep rare breed pigs? That's next on the list...

At the farm or at the vets?

Blimey, at the vet's. It would have cost twice that at the farm. Getting him down to the vet's wasn't too much of a problem in the back of the Land Rover, but getting him back - half comatose with large amounts of anaesthetic - nearly ruptured me!

Apart, that is, from one ewe, who held out for another fortnight this year. I can only imagine that she was the ugly one...

Maybe she wanted a career before children. :|
