It's like walking into the past, isn't it Darling?
.. the first words my sister said to her husband walking into my house after a period of estrangement between us of 10 years.
I sympathise and understand only too well what ALL of you mean.
I don't have many friends because of it.
The only people who I now see are either like myself or are those that have an empathy for other people who are not like themselves.
The rest have either left my company because of my obvious poverty or have been told to bog off by me.
I have quite enjoyed, eventually, facing up the "grand designers" (crap style) and pointing out their own housing mistakes.
Unfortunately for them I have a memory like an elephant (as my wife regularly reminds me in argument as if I need reminding!) so I am able to give an account, blow by blow, of their crass alterations and blissful ignorance of what they did to their now modernised box.
I'm beginning to see the purpose of crapping in the sideboard.
Re the new clock, sell it.
