Hi Cassie,
I would not use burnt sand mastic on those external mouldings. The linseed oil will bleed into the plaster and render producing difficult to cover stains. Better to fill the bigger/deeper cavities with a lime mortar and finish later with a fine filler such as that supplied by Ty Mawr. That said, the burnt sand mastic is fine for those section where the heavier timbers of the porch frame meet the wall.
My initial concern was that the mouldings were part of the structure and lent some strength to the porch. From the photos though they seem to be decorative and contribute little to its physical integrity.
