I have now had the walls re-plastered with Lime Centre Duro and Solo and they are drying out nicely.
I will leave them until after Christmas until applying the clay paint.
But in the meantime, skirting board.
Obviously lime plaster is breathable, but does anyone have any thoughts on priming the back of new skirting to protect the wood from any dampness?
Also, any better ways of attaching the skirting other than plug and spax screws, or is that sufficient?

How does the Solo look on your wall? It turns a lovely shade of white when it drys. Did you have it troweled in or open texture?
I'm no expert but my understanding is you should run a zig zag bead of grip glue along the skirting board before screwing to the wall. You could 'black jack' the back of the board if worried about rotting.

The Solo is turning white where it has dried so far, the plasterer said he did not want to work it too much as that would defeat the object of it being breathable.
It only goes a metre up the wall so I may need to finish off the wall at the joint with some platerboard filler to blend it in.
