I've never used lime putty or hot lime and won't be starting with this wall project. I've got too many bags of NHL3. 5 to use up...

definitely consider ‘diluting’ with some putty - 3.5 is hard for those soft bricks.

Will also make it more workable to speed things up, bit like adding plasticiser to cement mixes.
