oak framed extension

I think I can see possibly why an oak frmed extension may have been refused, while something more simple was given permission

What could be more simple that a timberframe structure?

Depends on the design, depends on what it's being added to, depends on a great many things. Just cos it's oak doesn't always mean it's simple, as in simple brick, stone cob etc etc, which in some contexts would be better than shouty 'look at me I'm a new timber frame' structure.

And depends also at times as to how alien it would look in context.
