I quite agree. It looks very competent. In fact, I don't think I would have taken so much trouble to ensure perfectly square posts - I don't regard their squareness as that critical, but I'm just bone idle.Schoolmarm said:
As for sharpening chisels, the kit that Ian has recommended will help you to keep an accurate angle. The only tip I would add is the ensure that you always finish honing the bevel on a very fine stone, then unclip it from the guide and give it a gentle rub on the flat side. Be sure to keep it absolutely flat on the stone - you're only wiping off the fine wire that your bevel-side honing will have turned over.
