Anyway Zebra, I can say that the original was modelled in polystyrene and after taking moulds of it was then cast it in pieces welding them all together afterwards.

The weight wasn't a problem FF, in fact the heavier they were was better in respect of them staying in position and not being blown over in any storms.

I've got the maquettes somewhere...

It was getting them into position I was thinking about, not staying in position. :wink:

I suppose it would be easy enough with a suitable crane and no expense spared.

I've probably mentioned this before but when talking to various builders before taking on our little project I was asking lots of questions along the lines of 'could this be done', 'could that be done', is it possible to' etc.

One of them replied that anything is possible and that they could put a man on the moon if I had enough money - though I'd probably talk to NASA about that rather than a local builder. :lol:

I very much hope that his Lordship doesn't ever read that. He still hasn't forgiven me for telling him not to bid on one of the elephants from the "Elephants on Parade" exhibition. He wanted to put it in the garden, which would have been feasible, except for access. It wouldn't fit through the door to the house. The garden is surrounded by a wall and you wouldn't get a truck with a crane to the back of that as there is a carriage sized arch on the way into the space. I didn't think the council would allow us to close the road at the front and crane it over the top of the house........ But your comment has me thinking that they could have probably delivered it by helicopter, I am glad he never thought of that.
