Novel way to get round planning laws?

I dont know if it made it on the news here but back in 2004 when I lived in Colorado this guy had a bit of an issue with the local planners!!!!! I was on a large earth moving job up the road from this when it happened - and all the operators said he should have used the larger D575A and it wouldn't have got stuck!!!

Sorry, I'm going to bore you with another of my reminiscences.

I used to work for the UK arm of a major international construction equipment manufacturer. One very cold winter, there was so much snow around our depot that we couldn't get any of our demonstration loading shovels out to their various jobs around the country. So to help local people who were snowed in, we sent the loaders out into the local lanes to clear snow drifts.

A couple of hours later, one of the larger loading shovels, that had a 4.5 cu. m. bucket, arrived back in the yard, and the driver scurried into the canteen. I went to ask him why he'd stopped his snow clearance work.

"Well," he said, "I was clearing a huge drift up at the top of the hill, dumping the snow over the hedge into the field.

"I dug out one particularly large bucketful, swung the bucket over the hedge and dumped it. And a Mini fell out!"

"So what did you do?" I asked him.

"Buggered off quick," he said.

I remember that winter. I was at one of those parties that went on all night, and when we emerged in the morning all the parked cars were no more than indistinguishable bumps in the snow (a bit like cornicing with a few centuries of paint).[/i]

Well, a lot of them were minis, including my boyfriend's.
Feminism rather took a back seat that morning - we went all girlie and stayed indoors looking through the windows at the boys digging away as they tried to identify their cars.
