I totally agree, remember that old Dulux add (showing my age now) a lovely old farmhouse with rolling hills behind and the chap has just painted it white and proudly says "I did that"
(ignoring the fact that he just choked his lovely old farmhouse with plastic paint) I often think of it when I stand back and look at something I've done which I could never have conceived I was capable of doing 15 yrs ago.
