The lime mortar piccie is now on the same page. I was just amazed at it's brightness.
Is it true that at some time the timber frame buildings were just bricked up on the outside as they didn't like them at that time?

Yes, buildings were modernised with new facades - many a Geo building is much older inside than out.

The farmer had a hip transplant, so the folks who rent barns - mechanics and horses, put him a walk in shower into the one bedroom, so he could keep himself clean!! He was 72 and on his own at that time.
It's got to come out so we can remove all the gypsum plaster and change the floorboards, but we might put in a proper en-suite when it goes back.
Haven't quite decided on all the plans for this room yet, but may put a balcony on top of the utility and have doors where the window is. It is all modern brick and cement mortar under the window, so no harm in coming out, or we may build above utility and make it a big sun room/ensuite/dressing room.
