Hi all..

Is there an annual get together / meeting? pie and a pint or salad n vino collapso. It would be quite nice to put names to faces / voices to names etc etc and have a general chit chat.. :lol:

I've looked and can't see anything in any of the forum archives.

Well, on Christmas Eve all are invited to Penners Towers I understand, where the food, wine and Chrissie presents are on him...

A few of us Norfolk folks have got together once or twice, fixed it on private messages. It would be good to have an opportunity to meet as larger regional groups perhaps even include a talk by one of our own experts-----

I concur..

I'd love to hear of peoples experiences, first hand, in relation to their own projects.

I've looked and can't see anything in any of the forum archives.

On the 17th January, in a thread about traditional pubs, I suggested the Loggerheads, Shrewsbury, as a suitable place for a PPUK meeting, being not only a great pub and a totally unspoiled building, but also quite central. Admittedly I was being tongue-in-cheek, and it's too small anyway. With regular contributers distributed between the Orkneys and Cornwall, West Wales and Norfolk, not to mention Texas, it could be difficult - though Cumbria or Northumberland could be quite convenient

I'd be happy to meet with anyone in my end of Lincolnshire, but the problem is that any meeting usually means that most people have to travel a long way. There's a SPAB meeting that I'll be going to in Tuxford this Saturday:

I think best all round idea is Penners Towers Christmas Eve, food galore, wine from the huge cellar, and Santa to fill my stocking...

I would like the Blue Room in the West Wing as usual please Penners. I will bring a skeleton staff, so no need to put the housekeeper out, my coachman, the postillions, His Indoors valet, my ladies' maid...

He rather likes the Damask Room, and Maisy to bring up his morning brew. At least that's what he says.

I presume we will be expected to attend the midnight service at the private chapel, and the reception at the Towers after, along with the chaplain, and the chiorboys, for mince pies and mulled stuff?

Meeting up sounds a great idea. I've arranged one for another forum and it worked well - lots of ideas to share and a chance to put faces to names. It's somehow feels better when you know who you're 'talking' to.
Biff raises a good point about distances, but there seem to be a few members from Lincolnshire on here now, so I'd be happy to try to sort out a date and venue in this neck of the woods.

hi all: penners and nemesis.. sounds like you've got your own agendas sorted..!! How about regional get togethers linconshire are sorted we need a midlands, a southern, a northern, a scottish and a welsh now...n(i know there are others as its a worldwide visited forum so I won't mention everyone sorry... I have a meeting for the Kune Kune society to attend already (they're our pet pigs) their society has a roaming visit, they quarterly visit each area..?? an idea maybe. anyway its friday I've been into the cellar and found a good vintage... can of beer..oh well have good weekends one and all

Well, if anyone wishes to organise and attend these get-togethers that's up to them, but don't add me in. That's in case anyone wishes to make some of us feel guilty for not attending.

Penners Towers is a different matter of course, that fine Madiera...
