Sonya - in my view the easiest way to reduce the size of image files on your (Windows) computer is to use a little free programme called Shrink Pic.

You can download it from here: http://www.onthegosoft.com/sp_download.htm

It's dead easy to use and gives you a choice of how much shrinkage to apply to the picture file. In my experience it's completely safe, so give it a try.

DJH, those were pictures in 1986. The Greater Manchester Archeology Unit sent them to me. It has since been restored by another and we came along and bought it this summer. There is lots to do but nothing compared to what has already been done.

Oops. Sorry about that. I saw the file name as well. Any chance of seeing the fireplace yet? I've managed to track down a crane and hooks for an inglenook I'm building in the dairy. I'll post pictures of mine if you post some of yours.. :lol:

I can't post the picture of the kitchen as it is now but if you look back through the post, I think there is one of the kitchen as it is now. The PO did all the work to get it to where it is now so we can take no credit at all!

Well, here's a tip for them: when you drop the mail into our mailbox by the gate, if it's raining close the bl**dy lid!

Here's my new unfinished fireplace built with stone and lime mortar and the bresummer in new oak with the bottom arris shaped so that when you bend under to poke the fire you'll get a bump and not a cut.

As you can see I've dumped everthing in the way so I can delay finishing it so that I have more time on here!

I noticed your rather nice fish shaped "butter mould" in the second picture, and think that it's possible it's something different and from further away. It is almost identical to the things I have seen in Hong Kong and other places used to make mooncakes or other "sweets" ( I can't really describe them as biscuits and they are not always very sweet either! ). It could be a case of the same thing being invented in two places of course, my knowledge of butter molds is rather less than my knowledge of mooncakes :lol: http://zeng.hubpages.com/hub/Durian-Mooncake-Recipe

I wish! Moon rock would be better than durian, and even some of the only mildly disgusting eggy ones leave a lot to be desired. I was once given some very delicious ones from Taiwan, but I was not able to read what was in them and consequently have never been able to get them again.
