Too many builders chasing too fewer leads One job In Bristol they've had 15 builders quoting for one extension...

I, too, hope your business picks up, but my sympathy with building trade in general is limited. A couple of years ago your Bristol example might have struggled to get anyone to quote for an extension, since it seems most trades only wanted to work on contracts for the mass-market builders. Those that were willing to work with the small jobs through the good times seem to be suffering less in the bad times.

The trades that usually do the extensions etc are being swamped by those who've lost their jobs or as you said the trades for mass market
As my wifes calls them "The fairweather builders"
