In my case, I don’t have any very concerning damp issues, except in the upstairs bedroom corner due to a leaking parapet wall and cracked lead flashing.
If you (or anyone else reading this) had an Edwardian 1906 house that didn’t really have any damp issues, would you use lime plaster at all? I feel now maybe I’ve been reading the forum threads wrong. Is lime plastering being used to treat current known damp problems , rather than what i’m doing (which is just generally letting my walls breathe to prevent damp… prevention rather than cure).
Maybe i’ve thought about it all wrong and i dont need oike plastering at all since the house has been in gypsum plaster throughout for several decades now and the surveyor hasn’t noted any serious damp especially due to condensation.
