ESSEX councillors also refused to scrap FREE LUNCHES, BISCUITS and COFFEE for members, which would have saved taxpayers £63,000 a year.
Despite an independent review telling them to get rid of their plush private dining area, they voted to keep it.
Their free biscuits alone cost £7,000.
TaxPayers Alliance spokesman Mark Wallace said: "I'm speechless."
