I've googled "Essex biscuits" for you and found no major local manufacturers so I suggest you go with a chocolate hobnob (milk or plain).

Based on this report from the News of the World online edition they seem very expensive!

ESSEX councillors also refused to scrap FREE LUNCHES, BISCUITS and COFFEE for members, which would have saved taxpayers £63,000 a year.

Despite an independent review telling them to get rid of their plush private dining area, they voted to keep it.

Their free biscuits alone cost £7,000.

TaxPayers Alliance spokesman Mark Wallace said: "I'm speechless."

Speaking as an 'Essex boy' myself (and one whom used to work as a builders laborer on my teenage Saturdays), I can tell you that the preferred foodstuff is called 'crumpet'. I believe it is normally served hot and slathered in butter....but perhaps I misunderstood in my naive formative years?
