Electric?, are you fitting electric lights in a period house?,have you asked the Conservation Officer, what`s wrong with rush lamps?.

Small point of information, the products you refer to are downlights and adjustable downlights, not spotlights.

I currently have the misfortune to be a Product Manager at a Lighting Company - doing manufacture, supply and fit for retailers, super markets etc. As a result I've become a complete lighting snob and pedant over the last six months

any chance you know of an adjustable light that takes an E27 bulb?

(Spent many of my teen years working back stage at a theatre on lighting and sound :wink: )

Correct, it is a spotlight, we just both call it that for different reasons
