Another idea, if you can get the tube to screw in to one of those dome cover things, might be to mount that dome cover onto a round conduit box - one like this: http://www.screwfix.com/p/deta-bzp-metal-4-knockout-loop-in-box-20mm/2108j and mount that onto an angled bracket of your own making.

Another idea, although I fear it'll earn me a "hmmm." Recently on eBay I purchased some mouldable plastic. It comes as small beads. You heat it to I can't remember what temperature, something like hot tap water. While it's hot it can be moulded to any shape. When cool it's surprisingly strong. You could make an adaptor to fit between your threaded tube and the next standard metric size up. You wouldn't see it once in situ.
