Leaking Flush

Sounds like you may be getting into new flush territory. A very simple job, costs about 16 quid in B&Q and about 15 minutes total to fit (including finding the stop cock and turning off the water!).

New flushes can be very nice, quiet fill ones.

They can be indeed.
Not only that you can get syphons that demount to access/change the diaphragm without having to take the whole unit out of the cistern.
It makes a difficult job a piece of cake.

In these dark days, it's a delight to find someone with such strong streak of optimism.

15 minutes? Yes - if you can find the stopcock, if the stopcock isn't so cludged up that it can't turn off the water properly, if the old ball-valve isn't so badly corroded on that it needs a two-hour soak with WD40 to free the thread, if.... well, you get the point.

As it is a toilet flush, I was of course talking about Uranus minutes - 15 of which are considerably longer than Earth minutes. :lol:

My general rule with DIY is "This should take about 15 minutes so I've allowed the whole day."
If you are lucky enough to get it done in 15 minutes you can find another 15 minute job for the rest of the day.
