Leak from mains water pipe

When ours was fitted it was fitted at the very beginning of our property, where the mains pipe joins our land.
This is 500+m from the house, but at least only under farmland, Severn Trent laid the pipe from one side of the road to the other and then sent us the bill

Well, Thames Water classed it as an "emergency". It's so urgent that they still haven't turned up yet!

The sewerage element of your bill should be affected too, if you are on the mains of course, as they base it on the fresh water usage if you are metered or assessed charge.

In which respect don't forget to ask for a reduction if ALL of your rainwater does not go into their drain. That often gets hidden as well, as I recall.
