Typically a couple of dabs of Plaster of Paris would be used as an adhesive for any components added after the main body of the cornice had set. Thanks Mike-I didn’t have any idea how it was made! Nor what the different bits were called. I wasn’t too far off with the silicone mould idea then I’m stuck in a difficult family thing at the mo-poorly relative a 7 hour drive away so house is taking a back seat unfortunately. But I’m collecting ideas-how do I stick it on once remade??
Regarding the 'Dentil' elements that have failed outdoors. If they were made of wood, as I suspect, then a chop-saw could be used to make new dentil blocks that can be screwed and glued in place - always assuming that is that the base timber is still sound.
