Well what does Opera do then that IE doesn't?

Where to begin.... for a start its a tabbed interface, which means when you start it it will open with as many pages there as you want. I tell mine to just continue from where I left off last time.

This also makes use quicker on a slow connection if you have one, you click a link on one page then move to another and back and forth, no waiting for loads that way, handy for dire-lup.

On the browser speed test, Opera is the fastest of all the mainstream browsers. (Lynx is faster but you dont want that!)

The thing I like most about Opera is its easy navigation. The commands are different to IE, so it takes 2 minutes to learn it, but after that, way better.
Z: back a page
X: forward a page
G: toggles pics on/off/cached only - so no more smilies
1: move left
2: move right
f5: reload page
f11: full screen mode
escape: stop loading page

Next thing is its way safer & more secure, Ie has all sorts of security vulnerabilities.

Once youre familiar with using it you can look at Tools, Options & you'll see everything can be controlled how you want it: privacy options, security optoins, graphics options, text sizes, colour schemes, wand, you name it. IE is most unhelpful in this respect.

Opera also can apply different policies to different sites should you ever wish to

It has a zillion optional toolbars, I dont bother with them but many find them real handy.

I coudl go on all night, just try it.

Just one last thing, there are now several versions of Opera about, the one I like best is 7.54. Later versions are different, with a ton more features, but the nav isnt as good imho.

If you want 7.54, google for it, as opera.com only stocks the latest one. 7.23 is also good.

If you want to, but you'll soon be cured of that idea.

Seriously, youre using earely 90s browser technology there. Opera is sleek and easy to install and use.

I was just wondering the same thing. And it could make sense if Opera handles the HTML differently, couldn't it?
