The microphone is 1km long (yes really) and is currently doing a very good job of picking up secret submarine communications (yes really). We considered asking them to switch the radio transmitter off but thought that they were probably unlikely to agree...
(1km cable is made from the same stuff that holds the door of your fridge shut which means it is microphonic. It is also a bloody long length of wire which means it is good at picking up stray radio transmissions. This is before we have even unrolled it properly. The radio tranmission is at 19.6kHz broadcast from Anthorn in Cumbria but can be picked up around the world and especially in Cornwall. If anybody knows somebody that knows somebody that could get it switched off then this would be appreciated. Thank you ta.)

. . . or worse, you may be visited in the dead of night and whisked off somewhere 'safe' and asked how you actually know about these secret submarine communications. Indeed, having read this thread, GCHQ may now be making the appropriate arrangements. :shock: :lol:
